Privacy Policy

Last Updated: September 7, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Arrovox LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company, collects, uses, and safeguards your information when you interact with Aperia (including ALS, Multiple Sclerosis, and End-Stage Renal Disease research briefings) and related email updates. The company’s principal office is 971 US Highway 202N, Suite N, Branchburg, NJ 08876.

1. Information we collect

Depending on how you use Aperia, we may collect:

  • Email subscriptions: your email address when you subscribe to updates, associated with a condition briefing (ALS, MS, or ESRD), including settings you manage on your profile.
  • Account sign-in: if you create an account with email and password, or sign in with Google, basic account details such as email (and name, when provided by Google).
  • Preferences: optional settings you save while signed in, such as which briefings you receive by email.
  • Keywords: optional terms you type while signed in (for example a drug, symptom, or trial name), stored with your account and the related condition. Keywords are a personal watchlist only. They do not change the public briefing or the email edition other readers receive.
  • Unsubscribe requests: the email and condition needed to stop a briefing, including a short-lived link token.
  • Operational logs: Aperia does not load Google Tag Manager or Google Analytics on condition briefings. Servers and publishing jobs may still record events needed to run and secure the product.

2. How we use information

We use this information to operate Aperia, deliver requested email updates, honor unsubscribe and deletion requests, remember signed-in preferences, secure the service, and improve the product. We do not use your subscription, account, or keyword data to build third-party marketing profiles for sale, and we do not use keywords to personalize published cards.

3. No sale of personal data

Arrovox LLC does not sell, rent, lease, or trade your email address or other personal information for anyone else’s independent marketing or profiling. Subscription and account data are used to provide Aperia services you requested. That promise does not mean we never share data with the service providers who operate the product for us. Those companies are listed in section 4 and are not given your information so they can market their own products to you.

4. Service providers

Arrovox LLC uses other companies to run Aperia. Depending on how you use the product, they may process the following:

  • Google Firebase (Authentication and Firestore): accounts, passwords or Google sign-in, subscriptions, keywords, and unsubscribe records.
  • Google sign-in: if you choose “Continue with Google,” Google authenticates you and may send us your email and name. Google’s sign-in and account systems are Google’s, not Arrovox LLC’s. We do not control Google’s privacy practices for your Google account.
  • Resend: delivery of emails from updates@aperia.info, including Monday briefings and related notices.
  • Google Cloud Storage: hosting of the public briefing files (JSON, CSV, and Weekly Snapshot audio). Those files are research summaries, not your account profile.
  • Google Vertex AI (Gemini) and Google Cloud Text-to-Speech: writing study titles, summaries, and spoken snapshots from source articles we retrieve. They are not used to generate content from your saved keywords.
  • Exa: finding and retrieving source articles for the briefing. Exa does not receive your email, subscriptions, or keywords.
  • Google BigQuery: an internal warehouse of discovered studies, not a warehouse of reader accounts.

These providers may process information in the United States. This list describes current operations. It is not a claim that each vendor is a “processor” or “service provider” under a particular statute, and it is not a HIPAA business-associate statement.

5. Advertising and sponsorship

Aperia does not currently display advertisements, run sponsor placements, or share subscriber lists with advertisers. If that changes, Arrovox LLC will update this Privacy Policy before turning those features on. Study cards link to external journals and news sites; Arrovox LLC does not control those sites or their privacy practices.

6. Security, retention & opt-out

Arrovox LLC uses standard commercial encryption and security controls to help protect subscription and account data from unauthorized access. Retention today follows how the product is built, not a separate statutory schedule:

  • Accounts, preferences, and keywords: kept until you delete your account or we close it.
  • Guest subscriptions: kept until you unsubscribe or we receive a matching account-delete request for that email.
  • Unsubscribe records: kept so we can honor the stop request and avoid emailing you again.
  • Unsubscribe link tokens: expire after 90 days.
  • Email copies on Resend, and operational logs: retained on those systems as needed to deliver mail and run the service. Arrovox LLC does not currently publish a separate purge clock for vendor copies or server logs.
  • Public briefing files: remain published; they are not your personal account record.

You can stop email updates from your Aperia profile, via the “Unsubscribe” link in Aperia emails, or by using the unsubscribe page. Signed-in users can delete their account, including saved keywords and email preferences, from the profile page. Deleting an account removes the Aperia user record and Firebase sign-in for that account and attempts to stop guest subscriptions for the same email. It does not erase public research cards or historical copies that email vendors may keep. Questions can be sent to updates@aperia.info; that address is for contact, not an automated unsubscribe inbox.

7. Children

Aperia is a general-audience research briefing. It is not directed at children under 13. Do not create an account or subscribe if you are under 13. Public pages may be read by families; that does not mean we knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Contact

Questions about this Privacy Policy or Aperia data practices can be sent to updates@aperia.info or to Arrovox LLC, 971 US Highway 202N, Suite N, Branchburg, NJ 08876.
